What we collect
When you use the Grovo Chrome extension, we collect:
- Email address — provided during setup, used as your account identifier and for license validation.
- Extension usage data — number of posts completed, extension version, and last active timestamp.
- Device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored locally in your browser, used to enforce single-device licensing.
We do not collect:
- Your Facebook password or login credentials
- The content of your posts
- Your Facebook friends list or personal messages
- Browsing history outside of Facebook
How we use your data
- To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
- To enforce free tier limits (3 free posts)
- To provide customer support
- To send transactional emails (subscription confirmations)
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment processing
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI compliance.
Data storage
Your account data is stored on secure servers hosted in South Africa. Posts, lists, and settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and are not transmitted to our servers.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you sign out of the extension, your local data is archived on-device and can be restored by signing back in. You can request full account deletion by emailing support@grovo.io.
Cookies
The Grovo extension does not use cookies. Our admin dashboard uses session cookies for authentication purposes only.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or through the extension.
